Vancouver is a place that is filled with artist and chef.  There is a lot of good dessert chefs around, however on this relaxing land. Most of these store close very early if not close all the time.  Thomas Hass / Faubourg / Ganache Patisserie are all famous dessert bakery shop. However, one closes earlier than the other. Before everybody has time to wrap up at work, they are long gone. Some location doesn’t even open on the weekend. The only exception is Cheesecake etc! But Cheesecake Cheesecake Cheesecake sometimes you craved for other stuffs. Or you just need place to chill at night.

The reason I noticed this location is because its named. Hidden is the keyword I really enjoyed recently. I like to find those restaurant that is a hole in the wall. But after careful research, I discovered this isn’t really a hole in a wall. It is just tucked away in a obscured apartment hotel. There is nothing underground about it! But it is a great place for date…

Even though it is called Hidden, the lounge is quite spacious. With back light slowly changing, a little bit of cheesy but sometimes you need a little bit of glamorous and bling.  Hidden Tasting Room serves Tapas style dinner but I am not here for dinner tonight. The price is quite attracting, every dish is roughly 15 ~ 20 dollar.  The subject today is dessert!

Da Da chocolate fondue~ creamy toblerone chocolate with fresh fruits.

Because we are in such a romantic atmosphere. Of course lets have some Champagne. There are 4 bottles available while the regulars are freixenet carta nevada brut and cristalino. (I know Champagne and Chocolate is such a cliché. (and wrong) but remember I just talked about I am enjoying the cheesy moment)

Accompanied by the Vancouver Library back light. This place is truly romantic. In honesty, this fondue is no more complex than melting the chocolate at home. However the blood orange they served is top quality.  Cristalino is quite smooth at start, Crisp with complex fruit notes but with chocolate is a bit dry at the end.

Hidden tasting bar is an excellent place to chill and relax with your love one. A wonderful quiet place to relax and talk about the future and such. I won’t expect too much on the food but it does the job, But the Champagne is reasonable $35! Enjoy~
