Go Fish!

Visited 02/22/2010

Who would have thought that after living in this City for 13 year ...it still strikes me with surprises...
At the hidden fishermen wharf @ Granville Island....There hid a shack of tasty golden surprise.
The location is secret in a way, you have to walk toward the dock where are all the boats are parked. If you entered Granville island by foot you basically have to turn left as you are under the bridge which is the main entrance to Granville island.

When I said shack, it is literally a shack. Open daily til 6 pm, this is THE spot to get your fish! It is owned by the owners of the hip restaurant lounge bin 582 & 581 on Broadway and Davie Street, which are highly recommended as well. The fish and chip here will just blow you away.

Needless to stress that the Fish are fried to golden crispy, served in Chinese Dim Sum basket. The real surprise lies in the freshness of the fish. Succulent, fresh halibut or cod comes alive as you bite into the crunchy outer batter shell.
I am not a biggest fan on the coleslaw but the Thai Fusion coleslaw has present a whole new perspective for me, the sourness in the cabbage makes perfect companionship with the fish.

Fish Taco is a must as well, wrapped with fresh vegetables inside a slightly grilled soft taco shell. This delightful appetizer is perfect for anybody that is looking for an healthy alternative for their lunch.

Thai flavored infused salmon chowder also deserves it recognition. The spices makes the soup not as heavy but much flavorful.

Despite its hidden location, I am amazed that it is always crowded when I visit. I urge you to come here and experience the opposite side of the Granville Island. Kick back and enjoy your healthy meal with the view of the boats and city lines. Cheers!

Worth the drive? YES
Food: 26/30
Interior: 15/30
Price: $10~20

Note: Don’t go during rush hour(weekend). The fish isn’t properly battered and fried. and the lineup is kinda too much. (up to 1 hour)
